Open Doors

The 15th Station – last painting by local artist Tony Goble @ The Church Of St Mary The Virgin, Bute Street

I visited a few local Cadw Open Doors this weekend. An interesting, low key* way of linking into your community

Roof @ Greek Orthadox Church of St Nicholas, Bute Street

I live in Cardiff Bay and Butetown, once known as Tiger Bay when Cardiff was a thriving port.

On Saturday, two churches opened up to visitors. Both vicars gave fascinating talks, bringing buildings in my area to life.

Dyffryn House @ Dyffryn Gardens, Vale of Glamorgan

On Sunday I visited Dyffryn House near my parents. The Cory’s home is now stewarded by The National Trust and gradually being restored. A costly and long term task a volunteer told us.
